30 Things We’ve Learned So Far
After our first 30 days on the road, here are some things Sunnyside6 has discovered:
- Laundromats are expensive!
- Yellowstone isn’t made of yellow stones.
- Most people are kind and want to share their knowledge, stories, tools, and food!
- Dogfish have crazy-looking electric blue eyes.
- If you break a wolf’s jaw it will die from starvation.
- Canada is awesome because everything is cheaper.
- Laying on a bed of nails doesn’t hurt because it levels your weight.
- Glacier National Park is the most beautiful place.
- You don’t need a lot of space to do a lot of things.
- Halibut can break your leg.
- Heat is a rare thing in an RV at night.
- Yellowstone is one of the best views I have seen in my life.
- Going on the fastest zipline in North America is pretty awesome.
- Halibut is really good when you eat it the first day you catch it.
- Time doesn’t slow down when you turn your routine on its head.
- Real toilet paper is a luxury and should be treated as such.
- Maria can be amazingly cozy.
- The Jamaican bobsled that was used in the filming of the movie “Cool Runnings” is at Olympic Park in Calgary!
- Doing school at the library is fun.
- It’s exciting to ride a luge down a mountain.
- You really don’t need to know where you’re sleeping for the night until it’s bedtime.
- 2 minutes of hot water can be a satisfactory shower.
- Clothes can be worn several times before they’re really dirty.
- My wife can work miracles (but I already knew that- these are just new miracles).
- Glacier-fed rivers are the most indescribable shade of turquoise.
- Kids can climb mountains.
- People like to tell you the road is impossible, when really it’s just difficult.
- Santa really does live in the North Pole.
- Canada is pretty nice, eh.
- Living in an RV is really cool.
